Pond builds
New ponds designed around the site, the water and the fish that will live in it, from a garden koi pond to an estate lake. We also bring old and abandoned ponds back to life.
What we build
Every pond starts with a conversation about how you want to use it: for koi, for wildlife, for the look of the garden, or all three.
- Koi ponds
- Built around the needs of koi: depth, circulation, bottom drains and filtration sized to the fish and the volume of water.
- Ornamental ponds & water features
- Formal or informal, designed to sit naturally in the garden. Existing water features rebuilt or given a new purpose.
- Raised ponds with viewing windows
- Fish at eye level, framed by a window set into the pond wall. A pond you can sit beside and look into.
- Natural & wildlife ponds
- Planted for wildlife and balance, including ecosystem ponds and ephemeral ponds that fill and dry with the seasons.
- Estate lakes
- Large bodies of water for estates and grounds, planned and built at scale.
- Aquascaping
- Rock, wood and planting arranged so the pond looks composed from every side.
- Recommissioning
- Old and previously abandoned ponds surveyed, repaired and brought back into use.
How it's built
The right construction depends on the shape, the size, the ground and the fish. We work in all of these and will explain which suits your pond.
- Flexible liner
- Versatile and suited to most garden ponds and informal shapes, dug into the ground or built up.
- Box liner
- Made to measure for formal and raised ponds, with clean corners and no folds.
- Fibreglass
- A seamless, hard-wearing finish laid over a built structure.
- Concrete
- Structural shells for larger, formal and koi ponds.
- Clay
- Traditional puddled clay for natural ponds and lakes.
Filtration & pump houses
Clear, healthy water comes from good filtration, and good filtration is designed, not bolted on.
We design and build complete filter and pump houses: the chambers, pumps, UV units, skimmers and the pipework that ties them together, sized to the pond and the fish it holds. On larger builds we work with local authority building control where it's required.
For natural ponds, a planted bog filter cleans the water the way nature does, and doubles as part of the garden.
